I want to be 1st on your list for hatching eggs or ducklings from those Teals. PLEASE !! Love them !!

x2...or 3 or whichever number I am on this list...although if I get hatching eggs, they will go to Beth to hatch for me then I will take them!! LOL....unless a chicken can sit on a duck egg and then teach it to be a duck??

So happy to see your girls sitting together and laying together!! SO CUTE!!

Ran into some "math" trouble with making the chicken saddles, so I am waiting for DH to come home and examine my work (they just look so small?!?) and double check my math!! Tomorrow, I finish the saddles and then start working on cookies (it is Valentine's Day after all). Made DH some heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes and candied bacon for breakfast tomorrow!!

Then cherry pie tomorrow night for dessert...must love on that man as much as I can if I want to ask for some ducks, turkeys, and the like!! LOL

Bhep, I think after today I'm giving up on my Barnevelder dream too. I'm going to keep to the Black Australorps....Tank is just too awesome of a rooster to replace. I'll get some BA girls to have pure eggs. I put the RIS(Rhode Island Swirls) in with him today. He just started talking sweet to them and didn't let anybody fight. They are young and he didn't care. I LOVE him.

Thank you Beth!! DH came home and looked at the previous link you sent me and initially thought it would not fit the big lady!! Glad to know that the XL is only 9" so these should fit!! I am worried that the fabric I chose is going to be too warm for her...I guess since it's chilly out it will be okay and will give me extra time to make another set for summer out of cotton or something tough!! (Perhaps by then I will also be braver when it comes to catching chickens...or at least I won't have a HUGE baby belly in the way!! LOL) OOHH...what are you bringing to WCA?? Who's Barnie?? Hehe

After what seems like forever, our Jersey Giants are finally laying!!!

We got them at WCA back in October, and didn't know how old they were. But thought they were fairly young. Guess we were right, and now, we have had 2 eggs yesterday and today!! Not bad as we only have 2 hens!! DH is so happy! He wants to raise them for sale and has been waiting for eggs. Now, if only the cochins would start laying!! Oh, and I need a couple of Columbian Wyandottes for my big guy!! It has been amazing to me how quickly we have gone from just wanting a few chickens, to having 5 coops in the back yard and plans for more!! Pretty sure it is chicken fever!!
