Oh yeah... while outside watching my baby goats play... I notice Rainy has a little extra something something..... Call the hubby over to recalculate his assumption of us having 2 female kids.... so needless to say... "Rainy" is now "Thunder". Yes! A little billy. Anyone interested in a baby billy goat?
Just shameful! Hubby is not allowed to sex goats anymore.

If I can get through today, I have a week off coming! Yay! Chicks coming in the mail first of the week; meat birds and a few BO pullets. I need time to set up the brooder area for them, and need to pick up starter. And some time for meeeeeeeeeeee!

Some hens just like to hide them...

BOOOOOO Not what I wanted to hear!! LOL. I was hoping I would at least have something to do with all of these eggs I can't seem to get rid of or do anything with (can't eat/cook them fast enough)!! LOL It would have been fun for DD to see the whole incubation - hatching process too. BOO!! Okay, I am done pouting!!

So yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day!! I cannot believe how nice it was. DD and I spent most of the day outside and I am ashamed to say I planted nothing more (I do plan to plant a lot this weekend...of course, because it wants to rain) but there were more pressing things to do...there was a sandbox to play in, a ball to chase and chickens to call!! LOL I FINALLY found one great thing about being pregnant in this weather...when it cooled down last night, I was comfortable and my DH was cold!! WOOT!! It was a pleasant role reversal!! LOL

I hope today is another day like yesterday!! Have a wonderful & HAPPY FRIDAY Everyone!!

You have your priorities in good order. Spending quality time with our children beats just about anything.

It's very exciting!!!! I just recently got all my babies out of the house and the garage and they are now in grow out pens inside the hen pen.

The 6 acres isn't in linden, it's between fayetteville and raeford.
I will be at the fayetteville flock swap tomorrow but will not be bringing anything to sell unless anyone wants my last white silkie roo, or some of my birthday hatch light brahma/rir crosses.
hope everyone has a good friday and good luck in your gardens!

NH.....you need to boil those eggs up and feed them back to the chickens. It is delish to them and super healthy !! I just boiled up 4 dozen yesterday, I mash them shell and all with a potato masher, the hand kind and they go nuts for them, grabbing a piece and running around chasing each other, it is hysterical. !!!

NH, my dad had a broody hen that he kept taking the eggs from. One day he went to make sure that none of the other hens had gave the broody any eggs and instead of eggs he found two chicks! He thinks she hid the eggs in the corner of the nest box under the hay, as he picked her up everyday looking for fresh eggs.
