Buff laced roo and white & buff laced hens. Not sure which hens gave me these. And of course you know my rooster died not long ago. But I have lots of eggs in the incubator from them. Have one other, came from a egg marked SLP. (silver laced) that looks almost like my splash silkies look at same age.

Nevermind

this came from SLP pen...no doubt

this came from blue polish pen checking egg shells again... egg marked bp in there. has to be blue polish pen.

That would explain the blue. *sigh*..

Chickens have had pepper added to their feed now. Guess we will see if this kick starts their laying. If it doesn't maybe I will have to talk DH into getting a couple of laying hens for our anniversary or my birthday (since it's a week after our anniversary)! Our anniversary is Saturday.

I am not good with the genetics but I have found that my EE/NN rooster does pass on the blue egg gene.

From my experience, if it comes out with a pea comb, there's a chance for it to lay colored eggs. Straight comb don't lay colored eggs. Seen this in my projects, some of the pea combs didn't lay a colored eggs. But my white egg to a colored egg cross have all laid a colored egg. Some of these have a straight comb that splits in the back. I have read that some straight combed ee's do lay colored eggs, just doesn't happen often. Also read that some pea comb ee's don't lay colored eggs. Good luck

Here is my flock - (Apple lays blue eggs and Bunny lays green / Nugget lays tinted pink and Ruby lays brown / Minnie & Ada both lay white) - I thought what my EEs had were pea combs.
