Oh, they are so cute!! Are they sex linked? Or just different color patterns? What color eggs do they lay? Till this thread I had never heard of them.

I am looking into starting a line of showgirl silkies, any advice or tips? I found online how to breed them and in what order so that by 3 rd or 4th generation you have pretty chickens.

Check out the "Swedish Flower Hen" thread under Breeds. They are really interesting.

OOHH!! I have some of that laying around what a perfect use for it! Thank you so much for giving us an easy solution to fix a potential problem!! Now I can open the door and let momma get some "sun".

How about zip ties to secure it? I don't think I could live without them!

it can take longer than that to get really nice showgirls. The best out there are generation 8+ ....Best to buy showgirl eggs or chicks :) you buy showgirls and you can breed them back with silkies and have both naked neck and regular silkies.

It's been nice, and peaceful, and productive...and chicken-filled. Tomorrow it's back to the grindstone! Actually, I really love my job, so it's not reluctance to go back to work. It's reluctance to quit working on chicken projects!
