Yea they are already starting to mess up after I cleaned brooders today. Thanks, I love the dress and am keeping it, unlike last years dress.

hello all

I am wondering if anyone out ther has any full size modern game chickens....I have odered some chicks 2 diff. times ...only to have them die after a few days...I have been keeping the temp. correct,room for them to move away from the heat if wanted,plenty of fresh water and chick starter.......they haven't really acted sick or anything....I would check on em and all would be eating,drinking.....acting fine like all the other chicks in the other 3 brooders leave the room and go back in afew hrs. and find a couple died....tryin to figure out what I am doing wrong....if anyone has some of these full size modern games and raise em.....any help would be great.I down to 5 left now....was really hoping to save aleast a trio.......thx Bennie

What feed store do you go to? We have been wanting to try the one out in brunswick county, but we're always passing tractor supply so we just go there.

wilmington here! I use the farmers supply on oleander. There prices are reasonable. I have my chickens on organic feed currently..

I had the same thing last summer.. Bought a bunch from Ideal. They just dropped like flies. Ended up with 2 red pyle hens... I think you have them now.

I think they are just stressed from shipping.

I got 8 polish from Ideal - now they are 2 weeks old...for the first 3 days - everything was fine. then suddenly I lost 5 of them one every day or two. Don't think it was stress - wasn't cocci...gave them electrolytes and when the first 1 or 2 died I put them on a small dose of Corid to treat just in case of Cocci - still exact same thing...perfectly fine then a few hours later dead or almost dead chick. I don't get it! I have raised these EXACTLY like i have the previous 100 this year!

Quick question?… how do you treat an egg bound hen? My 9 month old cochin is egg bound and I've tried giving her a warm bath and nothing! I can feel an egg in there and she has been on the nest all day!

So, everyone enjoying the rain?! I'm actually torn!

My garden needs it and is loving it. I love I don't have to drag the hose around the yard for awhile. I also know its getting rid of some of the pollen that was bothering me over the weekend... but...

I feel bad for all my soaking wet birds! And my poor cat sit at the back window crying because she's miserable.

I guess that's just the way it is... it can't be all good.
