Welcome to all the new folks I missed!

Chores are done, everyone present and accounted for.

We have Memorial Day activities we must do today. Hubby is hoping the weather holds so we can ride the HD instead of take a car.

Hey RF, when are your folks returning? I miss CSB's presence here! Plus, hubby has someone else who wants pullets, and I want CS to have first choice if she wants some.

I hope everyone had a great time at either VFem's Jam Class or the WCA!! We had a rather interesting evening last night!!

A special shout out to Beth (and a special THANK YOU) for her advice!! Our broody Maran managed to get herself out of the broody coop, and could not get herself back in. DH found her in the woods sitting on an empty "nest" out there. She ran from him and then ran into the main coop. Once in there, she decided to "fly" up to the rafters and perch there clucking up a storm and just being agitated. I kept running in and out trying to help while not leaving the two girls unattended (especially since DD#1 has decided that whenever momma turns her back, it's a perfect time to find something to color on that she's not suppose to...so far the hardwood floor, my WHITE ottoman, the brand new scratching post we built, her clothes, etc...). DH was a brave soul - he took his shirt off and covered her head so she would calm down...we then put her back into the broody coop and she was VERY happy to be back on her nest. I had panicked because I hadn't seen her off her nest until yesterday and when I checked her eggs, they were cold. Not sure if the eggs will hatch or not, but we should be seeing something happen here in the coming days, as day 21 will be this Friday!!

Oh gosh - the part about her going into the woods and sitting on a "nest" just breaks my heart...

I am SO tempted to get some Peafowl but nooooooooo I keep telling myself I don't need them! lol

Half of my laying age bantams are broody with babies now ... none of my large fowl have even acted remotely broody thankfully.

My incubator is now officially OFF - will cut it back on in August maybe and hatch a out two or so dozen more silkies and maybe a few brahmas but thats it!
