We have "mutts" that we got from a friend. Right now we have 4 hens and a rooster. We have a baby that's about 3 1/2 weeks old and one that just hatched last night!

We also have cows but that's it for livestock. We raise our own beef.

We are in the Reeds area, where are you?

NH... white dots on head could be the sex links or just barred birds. We will be there tomorrow and will decode for you.

Sharon.... It is always good news when a rooster turns out to be a hen.

No losses last night ...Vfem, how is your ducks?

Glad you had no losses last night... I hope your predator moves on.

Is anyone in the market for some Spotted Australian drakes? I have 3 males I am taking to the WCA this weekend... but thought I'd post here if anyone might be interested. They are just a little bigger than a call duck.

The two ducks on the right-hand side in the above pic are Australians.... the one on the bottom left is a call duck.

A better pic.... and the other duck is pictured below....

My pot-bellied piglets are weaned, too.... if anyone would like a piggy....

One female was sold this weekend... so that leaves one more female (the one with the white stripe on her face) and 3 males.

They are currently, about the size of my chihuahua dogs.... about 5-6 pounds.

This is their daddy....

I may head to WCA myself this Sun. I need to clean house again... I really need to make room for some of my new breeds.

Hey Beth, I had to work today, but I was out with Lily redressing her wounds this morning and trying to get her to eat. I had to wash the wound twice today. Some kind of larva was growing on her muscle and I spent a lot of time trying to clean them off. There were more after work, so I cleaned it and redressed it again. With all the washing and redressing she's getting irritated and refusing to eat she's so mad at me. So she ate before the first dressing this morning and that's it. She's drinking though.

And I noticed something scary... though no one was lost last night I know it was back. There was hard drool from an animal on the cage lily was in. It didn't get in the cage, but I saw the saliva on the wire.

I am picking up a live trap today if the lady will answer my calls. I am going to nip this in the bud once and for all!

There's no room in the incubator right now... I thought I'd save for a few days and put them all in together.... but these two... I was saving for you.

Welcome to the new folks! You're gonna love it here! :D

I'd forgotten what kind of things must be done before you leave for more than a night or two. I had several pounds of mushrooms in the fridge, along with a pound of spinach and the better part of a large watermelon. Hubby won't fix it for himself. I now have a gallon of watermelon juice in the fridge, a dehydrator full of mushrooms, and plans to make a large spinach, mushroom and ham quiche for supper tonight. He'll eat it all that way!

Four bantams out, two more pipped. I'd love them to finish so I can clean the incubator before I go.
