Good evening folks

hope everyone is having a good day so far

we are still in south Dakota but now in Rapid City.......
just up the road from Mt. Rushmore.
We stopped to let the kids play with some praire dogs and
those things are just SO darn cute!!!!!!
The kids had a blast and even got to pet some when
they would come up to get a peanut......awwwwww.
Asked the hubby if we could have a few........told him
they are automatic post hole diggers that literally work for
peanuts........

I'm missing you all and especially DH but the trip has been
quite an experience so far!!!!!!!!

I hatched out some very pretty silkies & show girls today.... one hatched out and it has no eyes.... anyone ever come across a hatchling like that before?
I am about to go to bed... but will post pics tomorrow. She seems completely healthy.... but I wonder how she will eat or drink? She may not live long with this issue... such a shame.

Oh, the poor little thing. Maybe you could try putting a bell on the water and food bowls so when it hears the other chicks ringing the bell it will be able to locate it. Poor little guy. I remember reading a really long post about a special needs chick on here not too long ago. By the time I was finished I wanted a special chick of my own to take care of.

Mary... I hatched a duck with no eyes.. Blind Bob.... Had him a while, he even lived outside with the other ducks. Unfortunately, he was stuck by lightening.

We made it to our destination finally. Left at 5:00 am, and checked in at 11:00 pm our time. Lots of construction on interstates. But all is well, and we're going to have couple days of fun. Hubby says all the critters are well.

Good morning, NC peeps!!

I visiting my parents in the BEAUTIFUL Lake Lure area and I was wondering if anyone had any silkie chicks for sale? I know...totally nuts...but I brought my chick carrier with me (

) and I would love to take home some partridge or splash babies. I head home to Ohio tomorrow morning, so this is pretty short notice....I brought the carrier "just in case" but now I don't want to go home with it empty!

I will be checking on the forum thru out the day...while enjoying the sun and the lake!

Good morning everyone! I have to say I really like logging on here and not reading any predator reports! I went to bed last night saying a little prayer for all of us to have a predator-free, peaceful night. Hope that's the case all around.
