Okay, well Im Angela (or Angyl as my friends call me) and I was born and raised in Fayetteville NC, still live there

Ive only had my chickens about a year and I just found this wonderful web site BYC.... I really enjoy my flock of nine but will be looking to trade a roo and hen pair soon (Barred Rocks) if anyone local is interested... pm me....

It is great to have found BYC as im addicted to my chicks and it is great t o know many others are as well...

Rooster or Hen??

I have been fooled several times this year on these EEs

Looks like a hen to me, roos have thicker feet and legs.


Just my opinion, I certainly am not an expert!

Good Morning Everyone!

Yes it's good. My turkeys are all still healthy!

We moved all the remaining chickens from the old henhouse/barn area where the turkeys live to the newer henhouse to remove contact. Today we'll be power washing and bleaching everything that's washable and bleachable at the barn and old henhouse to reduce it further. I am determined to save my turkeys!

Well I lost another Silkie between 5pm and 9pm last nite--TO A SNAKE--

HAVE PIC OF THE BIRD BUT AFRAID TO POST--DIDNT SEE THE SNAKE BUT IT GOT UP TO BIRDS BREAST-HAD SAME THING HAPPEN TO ONE OF WIFES PIEGONS YRS AGO AND I SAW THAT ONE IT NEVER KILLED AGN

Didn't know Silkies had such a long neck

Im dying to know if it lived, we have had the misfortune of having a few eggs that didnt hatch, we tossed them. I wanted to try to help it but was afraid it would suffer if I did.
