I am glad you are able to feed from your garden! We give food from ours as well, and even seeded some wild game feed in the middle of one of the gardens for them. Chicken can not live on corn alone. (or feed)!!!

Good morning, neighbors! I'm trying to find Olive Eggers that are local(ish) around the Fort Bragg area. Does anyone know of a breeder in the area?

not exactly a breeder but have made a few of our own.....
We use BCM or Australorps to make ours and our EEs,
Ameracanas or rumpless Auracanas ( yes there is a difference)
what breeds for the brown egg parent were you looking for?

Oh, yay! I'm not really looking for a "breeder," per say, just someone that can help get me one. I'm just wanting to round out my egg-rainbow with an olive layer. Which of your combos produce a more olive green? I was thinking a BCM and Ameracana cross, but I am certainly open to variations. Do your Auracana crosses come out rumpless? Will you be expecting any hatchlings soon?

Some come out with tails and some do not when
crossing with the auracanas. I think the BCMs make
for a deeper olive green coloring on the egg. Let me
check with DH and DD to see what is what and I'm
sure others here can help too
