Oh, been there, done that, have two boys bigger than me to show for it! When I told my mom I was pregnant the first time she cried.

Then she apologized for crying.

You should have seen my husband's face when our first son was born (I should try to find that pic and post it...it's HILARIOUS). He's holding our son--all wrapped up like the nurses do--and he has this deer-in-the-headlights look on his face. When I saw the pic I asked him, "Dude, what's with that look?"

He told me, "It wasn't really REAL until they handed me the baby!"

I laughed and laughed. 3 months of extreme morning sickness (I lost 15 pounds, best/worst diet ever), 3 months of bed rest at the end, and more hormonal mood swings than even I care to remember, and the whole BABY thing isn't "real" until they hand him our son?

The nice thing about a baby is that they start out slow before they pick up speed. You've got time before you have to worry about a kid that can crawl or walk. Then you've got some time before you have to worry about a kid that talks (and repeats EVERY swear word you ever slip up with...in front of company, it never fails). Then you've got more time before you have to figure out the school deal. And even more time before they hit that teenage thing - which I personally believe (now that mine are 17 and 20), is God's way of making you kind of glad when they move out on their own.

Congratulations!

ETA: We weren't married when I found out I was pregnant...hence the tears from Mom. We got married when I was 5 months along. That's when I found out that people will LIE to pregnant/hormonal brides without even blinking! Everyone told me I didn't look pregnant (and it's a sign of the pregnancy stupids that I even asked), but all you have to do is look at the pics. I'm either pregnant or I'm hiding a turkey under the dress for later!

x2!!

I didn't "hide the turkey" until child #2...:lau   #1 I didn't look pregnant until I was headed to the hospital and they asked me if I was in premature labor!!

Either way...Congrats Luke!!  Good luck with mom...I'm sure once it sits in, she'll be more than thrilled to be a grandma!!  :D

I looked like I swallowed the basketball team's practice balls with each and every bun I had.

Just trying to keep up!

Good luck tomorrow Hollow.

I am headed off to bed with the ice pack. The hubby and older son went out to lockup for me tonight. I am toast. Put a fork in me!

marlowmanor, It could be any one or all of those things. My birds have slowed considerably since the temp dropped. I believe that the days are already getting shorter.

I don't think it is odd, rather that time. We may find a few surprises, as some may have just started laying, and others are expected to start soon. We will see.

Good night all.

Thanks everyone, I told mom the grandma news and she didn't react bad, I think I'm more stressed than anyone........ GOOD LUCK tomorrow Meg! I think I'm ready, just not the thought of putting my dreams on the back burner for a little me. Hopefully he/she is a better young person than I was. Night everyone

Good morning folks
