Good Morning, Everyone!
No call from the PO yet. I'm ready and waiting. Not going in to work today. Last time I ordered chicks the stupid people at the PO kept them half the day because they were "cute". They even pried up a corner of the box to look at them. Didn't cross their little pea brains that those chicks might like food and water! If I don't hear anything before they officially open and will answer the phone, I'll call down there then.
Thanks for checking on calf possibilities, CSB. I have feelers out elsewhere, too. Hopefully I can pick up a pair somewhere.
Looks like a lovely weekend. Hubby has to go to Raleigh after work, so I"ll have a long day...to myself! Planning on cleaning out another henhouse. I want to get them all re-cleaned, and this looks like the perfect weekend for it. So one today, and the others tomorrow and Sunday. Another bleaching while they're empty won't hurt them, either. Scrub, scrub, scrub! Everything starts fresh and clean.
I think we'll also need to re-fence the garden. We just have chicken wire around it, because the chicken moat around the garden had heavier fencing on the pasture side. But hubby let the sheep into the moat to get the plants that have come up since there's no chickens. When they ate those plants, they decided they wanted the garden plants, too, and tore down the fence to get them.
Have a good day, everyone!
