north florida ????

TitiBebbs: I live in Tallahassee but my kids will be going to school near Madison this year and in fact I bought some chickens from a guy down there by Madison this year to replace a fox demolition in my coop.

I think Goldkist has a big hatchery here.

I know there are MANY abandoned places all over the place. We met a family who have a place of CR255, if that's what you're talking about.

drive the 400 miles from their Sunrise home to here every month. They spend 2 weeks here then go back. They still have a business to run there and work starts on the 9th of each month.

I'm going back in 2 weeks to pick up ds from Dad's in Davie and to meet with the girls I taught with for 3 years. If there was ANYTHING to do up here, I'd convince them to come. I don't think "the girls" can appreciate the life I'm choosing to live up here. One friend came to visit for a day and was shocked that I drive 20 minutes to get to Winn Dixie, and "there is no mall!" I'd rather be here than there any day.

Beth Hi: Goldkist that's it, people would have to see it, its a huge factory. I wonder how many thousands of chicks they hatch each day? JB

Moved to Milton from Winter Haven four years ago, and have no desire to move back, ever.
Hey Miltonchix, guess I'm not the only one on here from Milton, Florida.

I'll have to change my username to Milton"nochix" temporarily. Something has gotten in and killed all of my chicks.

Has to be either weasel or rats. Though I can find NO sign of either. Just dead AND eaten chicks. 3 Ducks and 1 Goose have managed to survive, probably by sitting in the middle of their wading pool. I have a new brood ordered and will be back in business early Sept.

Hi everyone,

My address is Bell but I live closer to Trenton. I often go to Chiefland, Fanning Springs, Old Town and Cross City.

My dh and I moved up here to N. Central Fl from Lutz(just north of Tampa) about 4 years ago and I love it. I have lots of relatives up here because my parents and older brothers and sisters were born up here. Now they are all in the Tampa area, as well as my two kids and grandaughter, and I'm up here in the middle of the woods.

I have lots of chickens, quite a variety, two grown turkeys, and 3 baby turkeys that are 3 weeks old.

Hi Beverly,
I live in central FL, but my DH and I visit friends in Old Town frequently. I really like the area and wish DH would have listened to me and bought some property there several years ago. What kinds of chickens do you have?

Thought I'd post again since I just found out there's at least 4 of us close together now.

I'm between Cantonment and Molino, near Pensacola. I see we have 2 in Milton, and I think there's another in Pensacola.

Maybe we should start a Florida Panhandle thread so newbies can find us later.

This is cool ... when I first joined I found only southern and central Floridians, hundreds of miles from me. My closest "neighbor" was in Alabama and still a couple of hours away. Glad to see there are more of us now!
