I have one. It's a tabletop, not a barrel style. We are butchering quite a few this year and I refused to do it without a plucker. Once I break it in a little, I might be willing to share for a wear and tear fee.

Would be totally worth it. I was talking to hubby about the sharing idea and he said it would never work going in together with everyone (who knows), but if someone bought one and then charged .50 cents per chicken to use it, we'd go over and butcher a bunch at a time and make it worth it. Or we could buy it in a few months and charge the .50 cents a chicken.
Food for thought.

I think if it was done carefully and under "supervision", it wouldn't be too bad. But it is a $500 piece of equipment.

I don't know yet. It depends on how much I get done here, because I have a bunch of trees/bushes to get planted today.
