Thank you! If @saris isn't able to I'll definitely take you up on that. It's nice to know we can be there for each other when needed, I don't know how I got along without you guys before

Sounds good :) And that's what we're here for

@UGLYFOOT I have a friend who is getting her chicken coop set up soon (they were finishing the garden first). I think I'll send her your way for chickens! Her other half said he didn't care if they were mixed as long as they'd get a variety of color.

Yay!
My two in lockdown haven't started doing anything yet, but day 21 starts at 1:30pm on Saturday.
You've got time!

In other news I feel like a stupid ***..... I sold three of my started Biele girls because I was like "I've got 8 in the 'bator and everything went well last time I should get at least a couple more girls" Well one boy hatched, one unknown gender has pipped, and one pipped in the pointy end, and it and all the rest are dead. Now I'm going to have to feel like crap since my hubs really wanted those Bieles...... Ugh!

Probably not, I will likely just put out a bunch of money to get chicks or started pullets. Ugh!

Could always have someone else hatch em for ya ;)

Side note: no broken toe. Just severely sprained (joint where big toe meets foot). Couldn't even touch it yesterday, so I went to the doctor. I get to keep it wrapped for a while. And doctor also said to stay off it, lol. 2 young children and 20+ chickens. I don't see how that's possible but I'm doing my best.

Question for all of you hatching people...how long do you keep chicks in hatching area before opening or moving to brooder?

I generally pull them out and put them in the brooder (which I make sure is 95-100 the first day or two) pretty quick... an hour or two after hatch. I did leave one in for about a day one time.
