thanks, this helps me alot.
Q: do you turn your eggs right away? I have an auto turner, should I turn it on as soon as I set the eggs? I read somewhere that this person did not turn their shippped eggs right away, they waited for 3 or 4 days... have you heard this?
Do you cool your duck eggs (starting on day 7-10) by taking the lid off for up to 30min 1x per day and then lightly spray before putting lid back on and heat on? i did this with my last batch.
I seem to always loose 1/2 my live and viable eggs a day or 2 after i transfer them to my 2nd bator for Lockdown. I am wondering if i should just leave them in the 1st bator? I wash my hands and handle them carefully, they just quit after tansfer?? i cant figure it out??
thanks
P.S. here is a pic of 3 (so far) ducklings that have hatched from my broody ducks out in my duck house.... many more are coming!!

I also wait for about 3 days before plugging the turner in. And I am attempting the cool/mist for 10 min/day for days 7-14, then will bump it to 15 min 14-21, and then 20 for the last few days. Don't remember where I read it. This is my first batch of ducks (and a few geese eggs), so I will let you know!

On some eggs you can see somethings happening possibly as early as day 3, day 5 is a pretty good sight. Sometimes not until day 7 or beyond if they're dark eggs.

So far, so good. Out of 5 goose eggs, 2 were infertile/not developing. Out of 20 duck eggs, down to 15, all 5 had blood rings, and the clears I thought I had did develop! Did day 10 candle yesterday, all is going well so far! All moving/developing like normal.

Did you mark the air cell? It's hard to tell from your photo, the shell looks a little spotty/speckely. did you check for cracks?
x2, on the answer of you will not see veins for a few days, but you probably know this.
I am no expert, but as long as the air cell is intact and no cracks, or mis-shaped egg shell or not too dirty, you can try to hatch.
how many times have you incubated?
