OK, ill wait a few more days, that way i may have room in my bator. I will get the roo when i p/u eggs, how does that sound? What day is good for you, just let me know & i will be there.
Can you tell me the name, make or model of your coolerbator digital thermometer, or where you found it online? thanks

Sounds good. We will be around anytime except Friday morning or sunday. We got the stc 1000 from amazon

I am "thinking " about adding a young rooster to my flock. I only have 6 hens. They are all just a year old in april. All about the same size. 2 easter eggers,2 buff orp,1 black sex link, 1 partridge rock.
Does anyone have any advice for if its a good or bad idea. How hard is it to do? Would i need to bring in a couple pullets with him so he doesnt get picked on too bad?
Im still not sure if i want to but thinking about the pros and cons.
None of the hens are broody or anything like that, but i recently got some silkies (in a seperate pen) so hoping they will want to sit eventually. So it would be nice to have fertile eggs to give them to sit on.
Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

I'm needing to make room for a set of turkeys I'm buying this weekend, so I need to get rid of my trio of geese. Anyone interested? I'll give them to you, just need them picked up asap. Or, heck if it's not far, I'll drive to you.

I have a big red broiler as my rooster, now, but we did go through about 4 or 5 before we got him. Definitely don't be afraid to get rid of a bad rooster. I've culled for one being too hard on the hens, too aggressive with me, and being too small for the girls. Big Red is huge, but docile. He calls out predator warnings to the girls and has recently learned that by eating from my hand, he is guaranteed to get treats lol But, if he were to ever break any of the unwritten rules, he would be gone in a moment, because roosters are free or close to it in most cases.

I have a brahma, blue isbar/legbar mixed roo. He is very gentle from the brahma but smaller because of the blue isbar/legbar.

and he is young, he loves cuddles and closes his eyes before I start to cuddle.
