I was going through and doing some research today and found some bantams with clean-legs that were bred for broodiness. They are called Nankins. Supposedly Chantecler and Australorp will both go broody and are larger sized.

Oh good to know! Thanks i will look them up. I got some easter egger chicks the other day. so i think im just gonna stick with the larger breeds for the summer. My dad had a bufff orpington go broody. I have 2 buffs so im hoping mine will too!

Uglyfoot, the GLW egg you gave me is a roo, he is quite good looking, I am trying not to fall in love, (I have not told him he is good looking yet) This morning he ran out of the coop when I opened the door he was all elbows and knees he almost flew into me then it was like he said, "oh my gosh, it's the boss!" and ran the other way.

lock down on auction/ebay eggs. Calico banty cochins. Out 15 only 5 that look remotely viable. 3 or 4 that started..the rest were sloshy and glowed. Ugh. Hoping for the 5 to come through

We should get together soon for sure. I'm not really available until after June 12th though. If the weather is nice we could all meet at a park in Spokane Valley,Hayden, or Cd'a or something on June 30th?
