I have photos to upload and will post them too. I had a good show, my ameraucanas beat the competition which were all very nice birds, Smith and Blehm lines. The other ameraucana entrant were a real nice family and like I mentioned, have real nice birds. There should have been more ameraucana people showing! There was no competition in araucanas so I 'swept' that. How do I get some of ya interested in araucanas? My 'kids' are so sweet! They really are a great breed of chicken. Hatching eggs available this year....

Egg stealers.... Yeah, I saw them, there was one kid who's parents were helping him! They tried to get the pullet egg from one of my black ameraucanas. The kid was sticking his hand way into the coops. They kept hanging around waiting for the aisles to clear. Had there not been plenty of people ruining his chances I would have 'busted' him. They were really trying to be sneaky. On Sunday I gave the egg to a very nice couple who had three adopted children (siblings too) from Russia. The kids were so fascinated and polite, they had never seen a blue egg. I don't have a problem giving something like an egg away but ask, don't steal!

I enjoyed talking to lots of folks at the show, many who were just getting into chickens and asking and learning. I really thought this was a better show than last year and liked the name badges. I also got to talk to Judge Sallee after he did my sections and got some great tips from him on breeding and improving my own stock.
