Northern Middle TN People?

That is kind of ironic! The Holland House changed hands before my time, I've only lived here since 1993, but then it was Clarksvegas, owned by a Greek guy named Nick. My husband bought it in 1993 and ran it as Clarksvegas, then Moonrakers, then Slammers til 1997. The landlord finally renovated it and made it into shops about 7 years ago. The area has changed dramatically. N Clarksville is bad! We have a pizzeria by post but we live in Sango, south of exit 11 and it is a completely different world.

dragonlili, That is ironic. I mean 27 years is a long time, the womens name that owned the Holland House was Maria VonVoorst, she was from Holland and had owned it for a lot of years, she must have died or some thing, anywho it is beautiful up there. When I win the lottery( HaHa) I'd love to build a cabin in Tenn. and retire there.

I think she may still be alive! She sold the Holland House, had a place called Maria's Ranch for many years, then bought a run down diner called the wagon wheel and then had a club/restaurant called Maria's wagon wheel that was right next door to the old Holland House. She moved down the boulevard toward Dover Rd about 10 years ago and is still there. Well, her restaurant is if she is not! I'd love to buy cabin, or a beach house in NC when/if I ever retire or win the lottery.
