Last week I bought two "barred rock" chicks from a neighbor. Now that their feathers are coming in, one of them does not have any barring at all. She also has puffy cheeks like my bearded ladies had at her age and very dark legs, not enough comb to determine type. So, obviously, not a barred rock. Could I be lucky enough to have an Ameraucana on my hands or just an extra cute egger of some sort? I'm not even certain the barred one is a rock. They're just over a week old.
It doesn't matter what she is. I'm just very curious. Opinions?
Alas, I should have taken pictures after cleaning the brooder not before.
