I added two more "daytime" pics, but I know they're not great either!Buff orp or a golden hybrid. Hard to tell with the lighting. Why do you think it's not a cockerel? How old is it?
I knoooooow! We haven't heard a single crow from him... But those saddle feathers and that cape! We are actually thinning our flock and rehoming some to friends, but when we went to move her over, she really stood out to me as possibly not a hen! He’s 100% a cockerel, sorry. You can clearly see male saddle feathers in the first photo.
Definitely a cockerel, crowing isn't necessarily a gender indicator.I added two more "daytime" pics, but I know they're not great either!
She's at least six months old and all of her hatch mates have already been identified as roosters in the prior weeks and months. I have her separated to see if she lays, but that tail looks soooooo floofy.
