Not a good hatch with my Suro 20

I bought a Suro 20 and did a test hatch. I put in 12 bcms eggs. Temp was 99.5 and held perfect. First 18 days humidity held 45. For lock down i set humidity at 65 and it held good. I only opend the bator twice once at lock down and this morning to get the 5 chicks out. Day 21 came and i got a pip and it hatched on day 22. Also on day 22 4 piped and hatched. It is now day 23 and no more i do hear a faint peeping in side. I know all eggs are fertile and i sold 12 to a gal and she hatched 11 out of the 12. I allways had 80 to 100 % hatches with my lgs and allways on time. I will wait a few more days to see what happens. After im done i will put a mercury thermometer it there and check to see if its reading right. I might just go back to using my Lgs. Any tips.

I am in the process of looking for a new bator and was interestde in the Suro. What bator are you refering to has "lgs"? Would like to do some reserch on it if you had better hatch rates with that then the suro. Thank you!

I bought my Suro 20 last year and have had wonderful hatches. I also own three Little Giants and one Top Hatch. I don't think I have plugged any of them in since I bought the Suro 20. The Suro is so low maintenance and I have had 85% to 100% hatch rates on shipped eggs as well as my own eggs. I wish I had bought one like it years ago. I put 14 Americauna/Easter Eggers in the Suro on April 7th. I candled today and I have 13 out of the 14 developing. I haven't done a thing...........no temp adjustment, no adding water. The bator does all the work. I love it!!!

I also have a new suro 20. I had some issues with the unit during the hatch. The unit turned off and on. It was the cord going into the unit. We have taped this up. I think this unit was really a return to the facoty that was sent to Kemp as a new unit. The reason 3 parts that we should have had to connect where already done and there are some scratches to the unit. I think that the attachment for the cord is not quite right but should be o.k. with the tape.

I was concerned about the hatch as it had lost its temperature about 5-6 times, but it is hatching.

Today is the 21st day and so far 6 or 7 chicks out of 24 eggs going into the hatch. I got my first chick yesterday. It is now 11:14a.m. on the 21st and we did not set the incubator until late in the evening. Concidering the issues we had we are doing good.

The one thing I am concerned about is the room for hatching. I have 24 bantam eggs in this incubator. The chicks look crowded, my next hatch will be standard eggs.

I am thinking about buying a hoverbator for hatching.

Am I happy with the incubator the answer is yes. It is so easy to use. would I tell another person to buy one YES.

Even the instructions tells you that it might be wise to use a hatcher.

Did you calibrate the incubator before you set the eggs? You would think they'd come out of the box accurate, but sometimes they're slightly off.

I had a terrific first hatch in my Suro (15 out of 17 duck eggs hatched), so I hope you figure out the problem-- they really are terrific incubators!

I did check the temp with a mercury thermometer when i got it and they both read 99.5. I have another pip. I would not be to concerned but i have a order for 25 chicks and i want to get it done in 2 hatches so the gal only has to make 2 trips to pick them up. If the temp is running low would it cause some eggs not to develope while others will. When hatch is done and getting a few a day it could be a long week lol, I will open the other eggs up and see if i can tell what happened. They are so dark i can see in them to candle.
