Not a plastic egg this time!!!

Some of y'all may remember last weekend my DH put a plastic egg in a nest box and I got all excited thinking it was my first egg.

Well, today me and DH were in the chicken yard and I see a lot of girls are looking into the house. I'm thinking "what's wrong with them". I go in to find this:

I could see a lil brown thing just under her chest. I guess she had been sitting there a lil while on it.

Then the party began. She started with the "Bok Bok Baaagggggaaaawwwwkkkk" and the roo and some of the other girls did it too.

DH got impatient and took her off the egg so I could go in and get it. Here it is:

Here she is!!! My first egg layer...22 more girls to go!!!

I blew the insides out of the egg so I can save the shell. Me and DH scrambled it and ate it. It's yolk was BRIGHT yellow and it was very yummy.

Congratulations Lady....Looks like you beat me and Aran. I keep looking, but i think its too late for today here on the east coast. Maybe tomorrow. Mine are 20 1/2 weeks .....dont know what they are waiting for.

Oh I forgot to mention, they'll be 19 weeks old on Monday!!!

One of my other Barred Rocks started squatting for me today. She'll probably be the next to lay.

Wow thats a really nice egg for a first-timer!

It was longer than I expected but it was skinny. I'm proud of her I thought the first eggs would be tiny lil things.

I've looked like this

ever since she layed it.

She sat on it a long time after she layed it too. DH was like "she's broody". That made me chuckle.​
