I purchase large quantities of day old chicks and guineas wholesale, as well as hatch my own eggs. We raise and sell various breeds of chickens and quail and guineas.
On my last hatchery order, they did not have enough guineas to fill the box, so they packed in some "fillers" and now can't tell me what they were. I thought they were Rhode Island Reds, but when compared to my other RIR's, they did not look the same. They are now 5 weeks old and have the dark reddish/orange feathers, but they have bright yellow stripes in the middle of most of their heads and on the chests. They had this yellowish coloring as day olds, too.
I have no idea what these are, but they do not look like my other RIR's. Does anyone have any idea what these might be? I can try to take a picture and post tomorrow if that will help. Thanks!
