You can't tell from the photo, but her downy is light yellow and her feathers are white with salmon color where they attach to her body. We were told she was a salmon faverolle whwn we got her, but she has 4 toes and featherless feet... not likely a faverolle! She is 2 weeks and 3 days old and 3 times bigger than our speckled sussex chicks of the same age.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Hm. Did you check any of their other breeds they had in? I work at a feed store in the chick department and I know sometimes they got the breeds mixed up in the wrong cages...

Since it was 2 weeks ago, and I just noticed her feet, they have changed all the signs and moved all chicks around. They have had 2 more shipments since then.. but no more salmons :(

Aw. :/ Well feed stores order from hatcheries, and hatcheries usually procure very badly bred representations of the breed...this one might just be a guess until its older. You could try looking for breeds of chickens when their chicks to try and ID her, but she might be so different from the breeds standard you couldn't know until she was full grown.

So true! Do you think it would be possible for her to be a faverolle with 4 toes?!
Since she is growing so fast I am afraid she is a meat bird...not the end of the world, but not what we were after.
Oddly, the internet is not yielding many helpful pictures of chicks. Oh well.

Perhaps, but she lacks the muffs and beard of a Faverolle. If she was missing her fifth toe and muffs AND beard...well...

That hatcheries got problems...

I don't think she's a meat bird; look at her slate legs in the pic.

Note the yellow legs on this cornish X:

No kidding! Her feet are yellow like her beak, it is a bad phone photo. Not really orange, just yellow orange.
