Not a welsummer?

I picked up three of these from a local breeder who told me they were welsummers.
I hadn't been looking for welsummers at the time and am fairly new to chicken raising so I wasn't fully aware of breed characteristics... While the plumage looks very much like welsummers (to me), the legs are a sort of pasty blue rather than yellow.

The next pic shows the contrast between these and a yellow legged chicken in the background.

Any ideas on the breed? Is this just a welsummer with something mixed in, or a different breed altogether? They are about 7 weeks old in these pictures.

I was looking forward to the dark brown ewggs, but now I'm not so sure...

My welsummer has very yellow legs. I wonder if it might be a brown leghorn? I think they resemble the welsummer in colors, so maybe you can do a search to see their leg color

Well i got curious and looked and they seem to have yellow legs too

ETA: SOMEONE ON HERE KNOWS THE ANSWER!!!!!

They could be a cross with a buff orpington - looks like they have "white" skin... I had some BO crosses, and that is just what they looked like.

Looks like a Welsummer pullet to me. My guess is that it's a hatchery bird and the leg color has been bleached out thru non-selective breeding.

To me it looks like a cross between a BO x Welsummer.

Personally, I don't see anything at all in this pullet that looks at all like a BO. It has the wrong head shape for a BO but the right one for a Wellie. The neck, back, rump, eye color, beak, ... everything looks just like a Welsummer with the sole exception that the leg color is bleached out.

Btw, just FYI, I raise, breed, and show Welsummers.

I agree with Tailfeathers, and if she decided to pop out some white earlobes, then you got a Brown Leghorn.

Given that the breeder represented them as Welsummers originally, and with Tailfeathers' corroborating opinion, I'll go with that assumption. They are not intended for show, but rather as providers of uniquely colored eggs (as opposed to the light brown of the other layers we have). If I decide to hatch any out in the future, I'll first look for a Welsummer roo with better leg color to help get the next generation back on target.
