Not again 😣

Pics
I ended up using our old carrier... it isn't perfect, but it's very breathable and covered with dark fabric so that's half the job done. Used a towel to cover the front by the door, and when the nest box (where I took a pic from) is shut, it's super dark in there. Dougie can go in and out, she's visited a couple times already and Spry seems content, she has food water, oyster shells and grit.

So the plan now is out in the morning for up to 4 hours to play and splash and spread her wings and stretch her legs.
Then in her "dark room" until 6pm. Out for a quick stretch, while I take her crate out to give them more room, and then both in as usual for bed, except early at 6:10pm.

This way she isn't cramped up all day, they have an early bed time that allows Sprightly more space and time with her sister for the evening. Yet Dougie gets plenty of daylight during the morning and afternoon. A compromise so they both get what they need.

It might not work. But I'm willing to try anything at this point.
Meanwhile I'm giving just under two tablets per day, for Spright, so she gets plenty of calcium and the vit D3.

It is a good plan sure hope it works. 🙏
Unfortunately we did just have another problem, not as bad as before though

Just over an hour ago saw her in pain, waited a while, nothing, just in lots of pain. It was dark by then, and cold, so I brought her in, and she just now laid another soft shell :(
Is it normal for the vent to really protrude as she lays?
I recorded it so you can see
For a minute I was super worried she was prolapsing... but everything went back in

Yes it's normal as you just found out.

So good to see she laid.
Thats a relief. Ive seen them lay before, just never so clearly from behind....
She's staying in again, she was absolutely exhausted after, she was so tired. I want to keep her warm and safe until she's recovered a bit, again.

Why are they both so sweet?? They have no right to be this adorable
