Not an emergency, because hen died last night

Please.....please spend time reading up here at BYC - there is a wealth of crucial information on every chicken topic under the sun.. Read all you can before a crisis hits as it's almost impossible to research fast enough once a bird is in big trouble.
Important sections include but are not limited to the Emergencies section and the Predator and Pests section.
Our birds depend upon us knowing when they are desperate for help.
Whether eggbound or not in this case is unknown, but it is one of the most important things to know about with egg-laying beings in one's care. An eggbound bird can reach a point where they go into heart failure from not being able to expel the egg. There's hardly anything worse for a being than breathing difficulties for hours

. There are things one can do to in many cases successfully avert this dire outcome.
In the future, if ever there is a bird in distress, post right away (sometimes it can take a little while for folks to be able to respond) or if you can, get to the vet right away.
