Not an Emergency...Marek's in the Flock

I am soooo chickened out today. Seems that no one wants to get along with anyone. 2 girls had to be moved to another pen because they were attacking one of my first Polish hens. Then the roo was making them all crazy and running around. I took him out and put another roo in. He was even crazier. Put the 3rd roo in . Worse. So the girls are alone now, and the 3rd roo is on top of the outside of the pen.

Then, one of my bossy body-guard Wyandottes was sitting by my door with her eyes closed. One eye is swollen shut and the other eye is okay. It must hurt so I gave her an aspirin. I put her in a pen with my little pullet. The little pullet was hanging on the side of the pen because she didn't want to be in there. So she's on my patio in a cage.

Help!!!

So sorry your day didn't go well!

Gawd Seminole.....when did you sign up for my life? Lol, I'm laughing with you girl, not at you, believe me. Mine have been going boogers for the last few days as well. With all the rain we are getting it's no wonder for me and mine. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Update;

I have started my 'pool chicks' on another course of Di-Methox at 1/2 tsp per gallon. This is the second dosing with this after a 7 day course of Corid. I waited about a week after the Corid to start the first dosing and about 2 weeks to start this one. I have 85% showing 'cure' the ones not there are still hunching. No blood and poop looks okay, a little watery with these but just not 'there'. This is the last dosing I will do on them. I am currently losing 1-2 birds a day from this group to either the cocci or cannibalism. I am going out of my mind. There is no excuse for the cannibalism. They have no light, they have a chicken ball with treats, water, food, clean shavings...I give up. I have tried separating them, watching them to find the ones responsible and from what I see, it's all of them. Even the ones being picked. They've had sardines, higher protien feed, been sprayed with water when I see them doing something wrong......yeah. I keep asking myself 'and we bought more chicks that came from Mt Healthy why?'. I went through this last year with chicks, ordered locally, that came from there. My McMurray chicks do not do this at all. I have also noticed the WR ordered from them aren't pure. No clue what they're crossed with. Done with them, completely.

It seems like its gonna be that type of day here too. My ee is back to not wanting to eat. And her poo had a couple pieces of longer grass in it. I'm trying to get her to take more grit as she doesn't seem to be getting much from the grassy area she's eating from. Gonna weigh her again later today.

I sure hope everyone's day gets better, and chickens too...try to stay cool!

I hope this isn't for a long spell with temps like that! You can't produce the bird blocks fast enough when it's hot like that! We don't have it often at all. It does happen but then life just about comes to a screeching halt. My brain doesn't even want to work when it's in the high 80s.

Well the girls are back with the Tolbunt roo that a member sent me in the mail last year. He's very calm. So everyone's calm. Hubby said this lady at work wants a pet rooster. I told him to tell her come take your pick. I have 4 roos too many right now.

I had to remove one Polish hen. Two of the others were jumping on top of her and pecking non stop. Why would they do that after over a year together?
