Ya, I didn't realize it got worse again in warmer weather. My birds all did well this awful winter and then it gets a little warmer and wham! 2 in 2 weeks.

I am still suspicious that Marek's has something to do with Olivia not wanting to eat or drink. But it is a strange presentation of symptoms. I am just waiting to see what direction we go in and if she does pass away, I will have a necropsy done. Hopefully it is something else and she will survive but she is one of the original unvaccinated ones and this all started with the warmer weather. :/

Kat - cute birds!  I can't wait to see mine.  They are going to be giant to me, lol!  I'm used to 2# birds.

Nambroth - http://www.clabornfamilyfarms.com/ - His name is Joe.  He's in TX.  birds are $18, it's the shipping that is a lot for me.  to me, $18 a bird is fine, but that's probably since I only have a few.  It's going to be 100 for 2 including shipping to ohio

Please share photos of them! I love watching them grow up. When do they arrive?

He didn't send my pics today He is going to ship Monday so I should have them Tues or Wed.

You never know about mareks. Punkin (silkie) didn't show anything like the others but I'm sure that was it. My newest partridge silkie is Olivia

Tomorrow! I hoped for today but it's taking 2. I hope they are OK. One is blue-gray and a real light one he said. Just what I asked for. It's going to be so exciting bc I've not see pictures!

Kat - how does he pack them? I mean what is in their box? They are not here and no tracking updates AT ALL. They left TX yesterday (tuesday) morning at 2:17 am. Coming to OH, they should have arrived in Columbus, OH yesterday and there are just no updates. I'm trying to call the shipping and receiving po's but no one answering yet. I'm quite upset as I hope they are ok! I'll be so upset if something happens. I dreamed of it last night because I was worried then too when I didn't see any updates. I wonder if they would be ok? this would be day 3 they are boxed b/c he boxed them up probably around noon to get them ready to take I'm guessing. I'm very anxious now. I might have to drive to the Columbus post office if they show up there. Not fun b/c it's so busy down there.

I'm very annoyed with USPS. I tracked them down this morning about an hour away and the guy said they should still arrive today (which I was doubting b/c of the way I know trucks come to my local PO). Long story short, I call back later in the day and was told USPS has changed its rules to where they have 3 days on live animals and medicine. Almost like they don't give a sh*t about it. Like they aren't going to be responsible for stuff like that to reach it's destination in 1-2 days. I think they want out of the business so they are just going to make it so people can't count on it. SO, my birds are stuck another night at a sorting facility an hour away and I couldn't pick them up b/c "general public isn't allowed anywhere near the sorting facility" - like it's top secret or something. ****** me off.

I told Joe and he was unaware of this change. I guess people will find out when animals lose their lives. I hope they are ok, I'm glad they aren't chicks. They have been boxed for over 48 hours, going on 60 now. He did say they have cucumbers. I'll update tomorrow, I better have them in the morning!

They are here! I'll put pics up later. I picked them up and they are ok as far as I can tell. I'm leaving them in my bathroom for a couple hours while I work then I'll move them out. It's rainy here today. One is cream color, very light. The other is med brown with some blue/grey in the feathers. They are so soft!

They seem like giants to me b/c I'm used to tiny birds. D'uccles and silkies. They are huge with long legs! They are probably 12 weeks old, not positive what age he sent. I hope they are nice to my silkie pullet.
