Not as big time as Jeff at Brunty but....

That was a wonderful article. We are in the process of purchasing a 2 acre farm so we can do exactly the things your family is doing. I've had a garden for a couple of years and order our food from a wonderful local delivery service that delivers farm fresh foods from all over our state, but I am very excited to start producing more of our own from home. We close on the farm next friday and we have already hatched out 10 black australorp chicks that will be our layers (and the roosters for meat).
What you are doing is an inspiration!

Very nice. It isn't hard to do once you get started.

We have wild rabbits all over the place out here, but our dogs do keep them out of the garden.

Nice article.... I like the picture!!

Nice title too.... LOL...

I seen that and was like... Oh man... what did I do now!!

Everyone thanks for the kind words.

I have been trying to find a farmer in my area to raise my birds on their pasture but I have not been finding anyone to help out. I would like to get off of my acre and just keep my hens there. Raise the naked necks someplace else with the hopes to use them to collect some of their eggs and hatch out every year. So I will keep looking.

Also, as an fyi.. The photographer tried to get me to hold a pitch fork for the photo and I had to kindly but firmly say no. I did not want to be caught in the trap of American Gothic.
