Not Broody From the Feed Store?????? cont.

Come get mine lol. I have two australorp mixes that went broody. I tried to stick chicks under both of them about a week ago. The one gladly accepted them and is being a great mom. the other one only wants her nest and eggs. so the one momma ended up with all six chicks. Now i am trying to break the other one and its not working.

I have an EE that went broody about two and a half weeks ago on an empty nest. Someone laid her an egg in there and she refused to budge. I went out late that night and moved her into a small coop we have set up into a nest with ten eggs. She accidentally kicked one egg out (it was developing very nicely) so we removed it from the coop. She is still on nine eggs that are due to hatch Saturday. So eggs are not necessary for them to go broody!
