He has had his bath. He did love it. Very surprising.
I did have to hold his head up. I filled the sink to about half way up his height and he sat right down in it and closed his eyes. He practically purred.
I found no bugs on him before or after.
But he did enjoy the bath.
He didnt' seem to mind the blow dryer.
He's in the dog crate for the night chomping on an apple.
Yes, he does live with 8 layers, so they are on layer pellets. I have higher protein crumbles in there with it though, Flock Raiser or something, I will have to check the bag. I added it a month or so ago because I added 2 non-laying younger pullets to the flock.
I bought him some vitamins for his water too, so we will see.
I will check into getting stuff to worm all of them since you think that is a possiblity too.
NOne of the diseases sound like what's wrong with him. any other ideas? He does seem very scrawny and light to me. Low body mass. He's a skinny chicken.
As far as being low in the pecking order, yes, that is true. He had 3 maran roosters in there with him (all younger) but they were bigger and he had to stay out of their way. All other roosters are now gone. I dont' think that would have made him no able to fly or jump up more than 1 foot at a time.
appreciate the help folks
