Not emergency, but... WHAT is the problem here? Give me your opinions.

Never! not even in full blown molt-Id ask for a return or at least a huge chunk back. I have only sold birds at full price when they are fully feathered no molting nothing, Im sorry for you-Hope that breeder will refund your $...

Not I! Maybe it is a blessing that you have this poor little hen.

They say to take a toothbrush to their scales when you give them a bath. Also rubbing them with Vaseline can help. I've never seen mites that bad on feet (personally). That's why I didn't know what we wrong.

I hope so too. I told her I needed some hens as I have too many boys and not enough girls and this is what she sent me. Which now I have to care for it rather then be roo ready!

Im sure that in a month of babying and feeding proper nutrition and health care and such she will totally look different but she looks so sad Im hapy you wound up with her though...You spotted problems right off-a breeder should have never sold her in that condition-Im sorry IMHO:-( I bet she;; look pretty when your done with her though:)

I know it stinks but maybe she will take a liking to you. Since you are going to care for her. If it is a BYC member it needs to be addressed so that people are aware and so that she doesn't try to do that to anyone else.

Hopefully who ever it is will read this thread because all I have to say to them is SHAME ON YOU!

Also I would trim her nails down just a bit since she will be on lock down. If she is going to be outside I wouldn't worry about it because she will scratch, but it looks to me like she wasn't someone where she couldn't scratch...

After 4 sinks full of water all the poop is HOPEFULLY off. I tried some whitener on her feathers but she still looks pretty dingy.

At first she seemed to really like the water, but then after about the 2nd sinkful she just dipped her head in the water and bubbles started coming up--guess she tried to commit suicide. I saved her though.

Debating on naming her Hope or Charity.
