Not getting notifications?

I just had 9 alerts (5 different threads) and even though these 2 threads where marked "unread" (brown dot) as I scrolled my cursor down the list, something marked them "read" (unfilled dot) for no reason. I am 100% positive that I did not look at those 2 threads yet. Good thing I took the time to read what thread alerts there was and just happened to notice I hadn't looked at them yet or I would have missed them. Any reason for that to happen?

I've noticed that reply alerts stay solid when you scroll down but reaction alerts go clear.

I don't know why.

They do happen to be reaction alerts.
