I hope you keep a couple of favorite birds. I can't imagine how sad all those empty cages would be.
I also wish i was in a place where I could ahve some peacocks. They are gorgeous and I love them.

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting rid of all your birds. I would simply be lost without mine. I hope everything is ok with you and i would like to thank you for all the information you provided to everyone who uses this website. I believe your gonna go through peafowl withdrawl

Deerman, I wish you the best and you are in my prayers. If I can find room I would purchase a few to hold for the future. Spending time with the grandkids is a precious gift that no one else can give them. The memories will last them a lifetime, but just in case you want to pass some of your peafowl wisdom down to them, there will always be birds here for you.

Have to echo what others have said before me. Sorry you are having to give up the birds but really appreciate the information that you have passed on to many through the forum. I have learned a lot from going through the postings. I hope you get through this and get to spend lots of quality time with your grandkids.
Would have loved some of your cold acclimatised birds But I think getting adults through customs to Canada would be a nightmare.
Take care of yourself and know we are thinking about you and hoping for the best.

Burt, we don't know each other (though I've read good posts by and about you) but what you said about spending time with your grandkids speaks volumes about you. Just as I was reading your post my little four year old granddaughter just came in here (she spent the night with us last night)...I felt compelled to give her an extra big hug. As for that 5 year old grandson...sounds like you've got another bird man coming along there. Kids are so sharp these days so be sure to explain to him some of what's going on with the birds, where there going, etc., so that he knows that they're ok.

My brother was a kidney/transplant patient from a teenager on. At work he had a poster on the wall in front of his desk...there was a rocky coastal scene, really hazardous looking area. The caption reads "Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off of the goal".
