I was adopted by a peacock a few weeks ago. He loves hanging out so far. I have 4 chickens. I use diatomaceous earth. For the chickens to dust bath in. Do peacocks dust bathe? He seems to scratch a lot. I am pretty good with chickens, but a peacock is completely new for me. Thanks in advance for any advice

Diotomaeceous Earth won't help the chickens and can cause respiratory issues, I'd switch to Peat moss.
Most ground birds need dust bathes but I'm not sure about peas

A combination of peat moss, dirt, and wood ash is very good. I see no reason to exclude DE from the mix, you just don't want it to be the main ingredient.

I use wood ash but I pour it slowly back and forth between two cans for a bit to get all the powdery bits out. It's an old prospecting trick but it works with ashes too.
