So we finally found the Siamese Kitties made for our family. We had been searching for months & came across a Woman that ran her own kitty rescue who had a litter of 6 Siamese mixes. We contacted the woman & told her we wanted two boys. She said there were so many replies, so she wanted to do first come, first serve. She said they had been vet checked, up to date on shots & were 100% healthy. They found the litter in an abandoned house two days before we went to pick them up. When we got there, she gave us a list of everthing we needed to know about them (what food, what shots & dewormer they had, etc..) We were very pleased & they seemed like they were in great health. We really didnt get a good look at them until we got home & I noticed that one of the kitties was very emaciated. Also, she never mentioned how severely anti social they were. We figured it since they were strays, but they hissed & flipped out just at the sight of a human !! Well, anyway - long story short ; kind of Lol ; weve had them about a week & the skinny little boy (Felix) has not gotten any better. Hes gotten a little more meat on his bones, but they BOTH have diarrhea & Felix acts very strange. Not wantign to play, just crying to be held, eating , sleeping & pooping. Theyve gotten quite friendly in the week weve had them - but my question is , if these guys were "100%" healthy & vet checked then why is he sick ?! Wouldnt any normal vet or person in general notice that this little guy is way too skinny ?? So now, i have to take them to the vet tomorrow afternoon & put out god knows how much to make sure theyre okay. If the vet writes up a letter stating they are not fit for sale, shouldnt she give me the money for the vet bill ?? Sry for it being so long - im just beside myself !!! I just dont understand...

Hopefully he is ok, just needing to put some weight on. However, if the vet agrees that they are not fit for sale, then definitely go back to her for at least a refund. How old are they? They may be too young to be separated from their mom and that may explain the crying. Have you tried giving him a kitten bottle to see if it shuts him up (I mean it in a nice way...I know how it feels when they cry constantly too)? Is their any blood in the stool or is it just plain ol' diarrhea? Also, my boy (who was a stray kitten as well) had diarrhea bad! We found out he had food allergies and has been fine ever since.

Poor babies! I hope you get good news tomorrow.

I think you only have so many days after you buy them to bring them to the vets to get the exam. Otherwise you're out of luck and have to pay the bill yourself. I think here in MA you have 3 days to get them to a vet after a sale if you want to be protected by the law.

I've never heard of a kitty rescue, even small private ones who do a first come first serve thing. Weird. Hope they're ok.

Well, theyre now about 8wks old. Ive done rescue for kittens myself, & have never ever even thought to do a first come first serve. No matter how many responses I got. The other kitty is fine. Of good weight & VERY active. No blood in the stool just plain diarrhea. Im hoping its just from the food. I hope hes okay as well ; A friend of mine metioned something abt there being a 14 day thing that if the cat is not fit for sale & you have proof within 14 days, they have to pay you back. Not sure though. Im just so frustrated.

Forgot to add -Barker, I havent tried giving him a bottle. Its not taht kind of cry - its more of a "pick me up"
kinda cry. Not all the time just anytime i walk by him.

Have them checked for worms and coccidia. I also always have mine FELV/FIV tested and vaccinated.

I had a siamese kitten that had diahrea when I brought it home. It was the food I was feeding. I can't recall the details, but I had to change it to something else and the diahrea eventually went away.

If the kittens were only found a couple of days before you got them, then even though you are feeding the same thing she was, it is still a new food to them. It is VERY possible that is the cause of the diarrhea. Cats have such horrible digestive systems anyway and tummy upset is very common.
