Not Marek's?

I received 11 barred rock (one cockerel), had read enough here to know to isolate. One became immobile, I culled all 11.

I sent samples to RAL, all 3 negative for Marek's.

What else could cause immobility?

There is a lot if information to try to fill in. If these were new baby chicks, it was most likely shipping stress if the chicks were shipped through the mail and were all day-olds.

Marek's doesn't produce symptoms until around two to four months, so before that, it could be a head injury, a genetic defect, wry neck, or a virulent infection.

From two months on, paralysis can indicate one of the avian viruses, Marek's or Leucosis.
