Not much work getting done!

Who would have thunk it! I'm not getting much work done anymore. Thank God I only have 6 hens! I couldn't imagine sitting outside listening to the "egg song" for more. Chickens are definately addictive!!

Think I'll go look for another egg.....then contemplate cleaning the kitchen

Oh, I know what you mean -- I'm out there with them every chance I get, which is a good thing.

They remind me of little girls, fun-loving, bossy, fussy and busy, busy, busybodies.

just another wonderful excuse not to face the unending housework is to go take care of the chickens. Can't let them free range unsupervised. Gotta check for eggs. Gotta check for snakes. Gotta go give them treats. Gotta go check the shade cloth, or the water, or that they've dug out under the edge of the tractor. I don't think I'd spend any time at all in the house if it weren't over 90F and near 100% humidity here all summer.
I had NO IDEA this'd be so addicting. Everyone thinks they're neat, that we're so on top of the curve by getting chickens before backyard chickens were all over the media. For goodness sakes, we only had them since February!
'course, I DO get more gardening work done in the area of the chicken tractor, just for the excuse of having their company.

OOooops! Just realized its past 2pm. That means I've spent all day either cleaning the coop or cruising through BYC!!!! Cripes, where did the day go??? Buh-bye!

Yep.... all I got done on Sunday was the dishes... and only cause I could see them through my kitchen window! The rest of the time was watching them, patting them, hanging in their coop, feeding them, patting them... chicken cuddles are the best!

I definately haven't gotten as much done as I would like thanks to my girls. I only have 6 too.

Ditto...Ive been spending 3 hrs each afternoon sitting and watching my 3 week olds. Such antics!! Dust bathing, sun melting, sparring, jumping--its all too much fun.
