so earlier i noticed that my cat (crystal) was missing two claws on her back right foot. the claws are completely torn off and a little bloody. i don't know how it happened because she doesn't get her back claws stuck on things. we haven't seen any blood or claws anywhere, either. i looked at a few other forums but all of them had different scenarios, so i just wanted to see what people thought of this. how could she have gotten her claws ripped off and should we take her to a vet? i'll try to get pictures soon.

We had a rabbit that tore a claw by getting it caught on a grate on the wall. She was fine, but it just shows that a claw can get torn on a large variety of things. It could have been tangled in the carpet, thread, furniture, in a fight with another cat, ect.
If they don't get infected, they should heal well. You can try putting some antibiotics ointment on them, but the cat is likely to lick that off.

I hope she gets better soon. Best of luck!
