Hello
I see no one answered about your actual question. Dorkings seem to be largely unheard of on here. There are only a few places in the entire US that sell them at all. You will find them all if you simply search "dorking chicken breeder" on Google. But you won't find a great selection. They are very highly priced birds, i mean like 14$ per unsexed chick, or 40$ plus shipping for a dzn eggs. We got some from Cackle hatchery last year, they fit the breed descriptions to a T except one thing.. they maxed out at 8lb live weight for the roosters. Now thats not too shabby really, but since dorkings were supposed to get around 10lbs I was a bit sad. I am loath to order from McMurray, because the number of poor results from that on here is staggering. I havnt ordered from anyone else yet because of price.
If you find an affordable place let me know because I would be interested too!
I decided to breed what I have to a very large white rock mix roo and my one dorking roo, and try to crossback the breeding to increase their size. I still want more, I need a bigger gene pool. But for now that will have to do, because we don't have that kind of money.
