Not sleeping in coop

I had my chicks in a separate temporary coop. The first couple nights they were to go in the big coop there was some herding done, but they got it.
Just give them a little help while it's still light out to get them in, try a light in the coop or go out after dark and put them in the coop. It might take a few nights, but they'll learn.

I have two 4yr old hens and six 3 month old chicks. They seem to get along well enough. My new babies will use the coop during the day but not at night. When they are in it during the day the older hens are outside and of course the older hens are in the coop at night. It's not cold here yet but I want to know if there is a problem or something I should try and fix?
How big is your coop, in feet by feet?
How long is your roost, in feet?
Pics of inside coop would really help.
How long have all these birds lived together?

I am not understanding your reply . Do you mean to be patient and it should all work out or sit with them until they go to bed?
Watch them as they go to roost, you will see what is happening. The older birds may be keeping the youngers off the roost, or even not letting them into the coop. Pecking order scuffles are often at their greatest during the RoostTimeRumble.

The coop is 5X7 and about 4 ft high

The coop is 5X7 and approx 4ft high. There are two roosts, we added a second one after adding the 6 additional chicks. There are 4 nesting boxes. They use the roosts during the day but not at night.Unfortunately I get home after dark so they are already to bed. My two older two are bossy but one of them is broody right now so they are only dealing with big momma. She is small and my new girls will be bigger than her. They have lived together for 1 month. I had the cage they were raised in placed inside the run area until 1 week ago. I removed it to encourage them to go inside the coop.

Follow-up-the coop seems at rest lol my new girls are sleeping in the coop. One of my older girls went broody, that left one by herself. I think that must have been their in HA! I hope it continues. Thank you
