Not sure if this is the correct thread, but found 2 of my hens dead this morning. *trigger warning, picture*

We don’t have skunks here. I live in Newfoundland, Canada.
This list shows that you MAY have Mink AND Ermine.. There's your predator.. It wasn't your cockerel.. and you're missing the entry point somewhere, unfortunately... is my suspicion.. It's easy to miss a tiny bolt hole in the dirt.. How far down did you say your skirt goes?

I agree light may have been an issue, and glad ya got that sorted.. but seriously doubt that extent of CLEAN damage could have been done by another chicken.. even a whole flock.

So glad you decided to give your guy a chance in an other pen if needed! Hope you find answers before anymore damage happens! :fl

ETA: Is coop open to run 24/7?

Raccoon like to eat the crotch or the head then go get another. I recently lost 7 chickens in 1 night. You would be amazed what a large raccoon can squeeze into for food.
My rooster has attacked my old hen a couple times but he only pecks at her comb. I would doubt your rooster did this.
Definitely a predator, mink or fox? A 30 pound raccoon can run under a 2.5" gap like its world champion limbo, fox and mink are half the size. You have another mink type animal too I think, forgot their name.
