I like following these just to learn for myself, but how old does a chick have to be to make a good guess? I see some who are older but no one is sure and then some people are fairly sure and they're only 3 weeks old lol.

Some chicks develop faster then others, you could have two chicks that are the same breed and one could already show signs of being a cockerel while the other doesn't but it still ends up being a cockerel. I always say around 6 weeks is the time you can start to make fairly *accurate* guesses.

Both cockerels, the white one maybe a Light Sussex or a Colombian.

That's what I thought. What breed is the white one? Can you tell what sex these are? Some I know are roosters. Couple not sure of.

All look like cockerels. The white one is a Light Sussex, it's got white skin.

Hi! I posted on this thread a while ago and had two cockerels identified (which are now so boyish there is no doubt) but now I think I have a 3rd, maybe fourth!

"Zola" Standard Blue Cochin ~5.5weeks








"Sweet Lil" Blue Laced Red Wyandotte~5.5 weeks (Her comb isn't really getting bigger but is turning pink and so are her wattles)




"Sooty" Standard Black Cochin 4.5 weeks old (This one seems to not grow at all!)




And just for fun, the two roos you guys pegged for me a while back. No doubt now
