Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Hello. I hope someone can help on gender with this one?
31 days old and caught on camera when just getting sleepy! Been much slower developing than its hatch mate.

Thanks

Both Dark Brahma, bought from the farm store on May 09. Indistinguishable as chicks, I was convinced both were SHE, but their coloration is now so divergent from one another (as well as the distinctiveness of the penciling) that my inexperience is showing, and I'm beginning to second/third/fourth guess myself. All the pictures I find of cockerels online (older birds, obviously) tell me there will be no question later, the boys are so distinct, but that doesn't help in the here and now. I have four birds largely matching the coloration of the first (albeit *slightly* darker and more distinct) on the left, and the one much darker bird pictured at right.

Thanks in advance!

The lav orp is a little tough with those wattles, but due to the lack of comb color, I'm guessing female. (I had a few female orps who had larger wattles that that.)

I don't know much about the Starlight green egger. In general female Easter eggers have a very uniform color pattern while males get patches of brick red (or white) on their shoulders &/or chest.

Pic #1 9 week old RIR MALE
Pic #2 8 week Starlight Green Egger could be female (comb looks flushed. Pink comb usually means male. But if it was hot or chick was nervous, then it could be female)

This is Smoosh, she/he is a cross between a Barred Holland roo and a Silver Laced Wyandotte hen. She/he is right at 9 weeks old. I had a little boy from the same hatch that developed much faster and was easily determined to be a boy but unfortunately his life was cut short by the neighbors dog. This one has had me stumped for a number of weeks.
