Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

What does "hatchery quality" mean? Is that good or bad? He's gonna get culled soon anyway if we are certain it's a cockerel. I might consider giving him away first instead because there's not much meat there and I'd rather he became a pet. He is feisty and pecks more than any of the other birds though.
Hatchery quality means not bred to standard. There is basically no difference between hatchery Rhode Island Reds, and other hatchery 'red' birds besides the shade of red. The dark ones get labeled Rhode Island Red. The mid-tone birds get labeled Production Red. And the lightest ones get labeled New Hampshire.

Hello! I decided to start another thread on helping all you back yard chicken farmers determine the sex of your chicken.
I know it can sometimes be super tricky to identify gender in chicks, so that's why we made this thread! No need to start your own thread, just hop on here and share a picture of your chick, making sure it's at least 4 weeks old before asking gender. Me and @Jetblack2004
are almost 100% on genders for chicks 4 weeks+.
So feel free to ask lots of questions regarding gender. We do NOT identify breeds, only gender. However, if anyone out there is good at identifying breeds, please let us know, we would love to have your help!

Thanks!

Hey, Ftfarmer22. What gender do you think these 7-8wk Wellsummer mixes are? (sibs from a barnyard mix with a wellie)
