Hello all. I am new to backyard chickens. I bought my chickens from a farm store. The kid working told me they were Easter Eggers that would lay. But they rang up as Ameraucana. Today my husband told me that he thinks the white chicken is a Rooster. It hasn't crowed at all. Can anyone please let me know? Any input is appreciated. Thank you. :)

Yes to easterms eggers and yes to rooster...

Hey gals and guys!!

Ive got 15- 3 1/2 weeks old chickies, 3 BR. I ordered all pullets but one of the barred rocks is quite a bit larger than the other two, more prominent stripes, and thick legs. The comb is a lot larger and turning red faster
than all the others. This chickie is the bravest and most dominant of the flock.

I got one reply on another BR specific thread but would appreciate some more opinions. Could you offer your thoughts on the sex, please?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, you got a cockerel. Vent sexing is an art and not 100% accurate. Mistakes happen.

The white EE is definitely a male. I'm surprised he's not crowing yet. The hatcheries sell birds that have most of the traits of an Ameraucana, but their birds to not usually meet the standard for feather color and leg color and egg color. Easter Egger (EE) is the term we use for these birds.

They are from a private farm near where I am from in NJ. They are about 2 1/2 months old. I will see if I can get better pics of all 3 when I get home from work
