Thanks! I guess I'll have to get a couple more pullets to replace them. Don't count your chickens before they're sexed, I guess... XD
lol

Those are not Ameraucana. They might be Easter Egger crosses. Still too young to sex yet.Hello! I'm a new chicken owner with 4 black splash Ameraucanas. They're supposed to be pullets, but as they get older a couple of them are making me suspicious...
Chick #1: This is the oldest; I think it's about 7 wks old?
Chick #2: This one is 6 wks. The shyest and quietest of the bunch.
Chick #3: Also 6 wks. I swear this one has tried to crow...no sound comes out, but it stands up tall, stretches its head up and opens its beak for a second or two.
Chick #4: I think this one is about 5 wks old. I started noticing the pinkness in the comb several weeks ago when it was still just a tiny little thing. I thought the others had been pecking at it, but now I think he's a man, lol.
Any ideas?
Definitely a cockerel.Hi all, I posted this in another area before I saw this thread, hoping you can help me out....
I'm stating to wonder about this one, supposed to be a pullet, but I have 2 Wyandottes and this one is starting to look quite different from my other. Approx 7 weeks old, I've lost count exactly. Hen or roo?
Thanks!!!

Loads of people buy hatchery or feed store Ameraucana not realizing they are getting Easter Eggers. Nothing wrong with Easter Eggers, just that they aren't the same thing as Ameraucana. None of those chicks are muffed, so they likely are heavily mixed with other breeds.Oh man. I'm really confused now! The guy I bought them from said they were Ameraucana, but he did have a bunch of baby Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, and a few other breeds all mixed together in one brooder. I'm not picky about breed, though, so no biggie.
